What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine in Eugene, Oregon

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a form of health care that has been used effectively for nearly 5,000 years. Today it is used by approximately 50% of the world population. This ancient medicine is based on the principles of Vital Energy or Qi (Chee). Qi helps to animate the body and protect it from illness, pain, and disease. A person’s health is influenced by the quantity, quality, and balance of Qi in their body. Qi circulates through pathways in the body called meridians. Each meridian connects to specific organs and glands. When Qi flows freely through the meridians, a person enjoys good physical health, and a state of mental and emotional well-being. If the flow of Qi is obstructed, the nourishment the body requires to function optimally is not distributed, and disharmony occurs. As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I seek to affect the flow of Qi and access the body’s innate healing ability. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, along with the adjunctive therapies: cupping, moxibustion, massage, and dietary therapy are used together to treat a wide variety of medical conditions.
